ABOUT THE HOST:

Lucy Ann Lance, a seasoned radio personality and community advocate, has left an indelible mark on local media. With over 40 years of radio experience, she has become a familiar voice in Southeast Michigan.

Lance co-hosts “The Lucy Ann Lance Show,” a program that has graced the airwaves since 1993. Drawing from 75 years of combined experience in communications, local journalism, and community engagement, she and her colleague Dean Erskine, along with producer Derek Laughlin, engage listeners in timely and thoughtful conversations.

Her journey began as a radio news anchor and assistant news director in Ann Arbor, and as an assistant manager at Ann Arbor’s Community Television Network, where she worked tirelessly for three decades while continuing her work in radio. Lance’s radio career even includes filing network reports for NBC and Mutual Radio News. Her mentors, including the late Ted Heusel and “Fat” Bob Taylor, shaped her commitment to community engagement.

Beyond the mic, Lucy Ann Lance champions local charities as a volunteer emcee. Her accolades include the former Ann Arbor Business Review’s “Most Influential Women” Award, the Miss America Women of Achievement Award, and the Michigan Small Business Journalist of the Year Award. Her impact extends beyond broadcasting, making her a true Ann Arbor icon.
