Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., on Sunday said he would not back President-elect Donald Trump’s plan to eliminate the debt ceiling.

When asked on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures With Maria Bartiromo” if he would support Trump’s plan to eliminate the debt ceiling as part of a larger reconciliation bill that would include funding the border and other policies, the senator responded, “No.”

“We absolutely need a debt ceiling limit. Now, I’ll negotiate in terms of how far we increase that.
