Lawsuits to stop President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency “missed the point” because they focus on claims that the initiative it is “not filing enough paperwork,” Sen. James Lankford, a member of a Senate DOGE caucus, said Wednesday on Newsmax.
“I don’t know of an executive order right now that there isn’t someone trying to be able to go to court to be able to stop,” the Oklahoma Republican said on “Wake Up America.”
The three lawsuits against DOGE allege that the nongovernmental efficiency initiative meets the requirements to be considered a federal advisory committee while failing to follow the Federal Advisory Committee Act of 1972 law establishing rules on hiring, disclosure, and other actions.
