Rep. Bill Huizenga, R-Mich., told Newsmax on Wednesday that while he understands why the administration’s goal to end birthright citizenship is concerning to many people, he emphasized that the issue is indeed worthy of debate.

Appearing on “Wake Up America,” he talked about the fact that his state is 1 of 22 that has filed lawsuits challenging the executive order that President Donald Trump signed that seeks to roll back birthright citizenship, saying that it violates the 14th Amendment.

Huizenga said that “Michigan’s attorney general … is a hard left progressive and it is was not a surprise to me at all that she would go after the administration.”
