Republicans have “a lot to do that the American people are entrusting us to get done” and voting in a House speaker was the first order of business, Rep. Beth Van Duyne, R-Texas, said on Newsmax Monday.
“I mean, I think a lot of us were just ready to move on. We wanted to make sure that we got a speaker. That’s the first thing you have to do before you can even get sworn into office,” Van Duyne told “National Report.”
“Then we had to vote for a rules package. We’ve got a lot to do that the American people are entrusting us to get done in the first 100 days of this presidency.
