President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday announced nominations to be the U.S. ambassadors to Portugal and Malta.
In a Truth Social post, Trump nominated John Arrigo to be ambassador to Portugal. Arrigo, a longtime Trump business associate, is vice president of the Arrigo Auto Group, which operates in West Palm Beach, Florida, near where Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort is located.
“John is a highly successful entrepreneur in the automotive industry, and a champion golfer,” Trump wrote. “For over thirty years, he has been an incredible leader in business in West Palm Beach and is respected by all.
