Roger Stone, former Trump campaign adviser and longtime ally, told Newsmax on Thursday that Republican senators who oppose any of the president-elect’s Cabinet nominees does so at their own political peril.
Stone joined “Finnerty” to talk about the reticence of a handful of Republican senators who are balking at choices like secretary of defense nominee Pete Hegseth and intelligence chief nominee Tulsi Gabbard.
“Well, unfortunately, the real divide in Washington is not between Republicans and Democrats. It’s between the reform-minded, populist outsider Donald Trump, who already had an incredibly successful first term as president, bringing reform, and it’s an entrenched Washington establishment seeking to resist it,” Stone told host Rob Finnerty.
