Dakota Meyer, Marine veteran and Congressional Medal of Honor recipient who led New York City’s 105th Veterans Day Parade as grand marshal, told Newsmax on Tuesday that it “was truly an honor” to lead the procession along Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.
Meyer said on “Newsline” that leading the parade on Monday “was truly an honor,” adding, “I hope that Americans who came out and honored and watched … the best of their generation our country has to offer, which is our veterans, I hope that when they left, they had a sense of pride.”
Meyer said that he hopes the attendees and people watching at home “slept a little bit better last night, knowing that democracy is alive, that their ideas and their dreams and … their beliefs are all possible” because of veterans.
